Hi all,
I have been watching the developing concerns regarding the coronavirus and care about you.
health risk to Americans is low
, thus we will continue to organize events with some added suggestions/precautions. We will continue to watch the CDC suggestions and modify as needed.
The venues that we work with are also taking added precautions, engaging in disinfecting and more cleaning - to help reduce the risk.
We will either be using new pens at each event or disinfecting the pens after each event.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO.
- Do not attend if you are not feeling well. Please just give me a heads up by the day before and I will be happy to reschedule you.
- For extra precaution, consider fist pumps or elbow bumps instead of shaking hands.
- Cover any cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after your event, or after any sneeze/cough. If soap and water are unavailable, use hand sanitizer.
- Routinely clean any surfaces/objects that are frequently touched (e.g., your phone).
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Jay
I know for many of us, these types of updates have become all too familiar over the past few years. But I want to remind you that WeekendDating.com events are built around real connection, and that includes looking out for one another’s well-being. Whether you're a regular or thinking about coming to your very first event, we want you to feel safe, comfortable, and welcome.
These precautions aren’t about fear — they’re about care. When we each take small steps, it creates a better experience for everyone. We still want to laugh, meet new people, and share stories — we just want to do it smartly. And for those of you who may have been on the fence, this is a good opportunity to ease back into social life without pressure. You don’t have to commit to a whole night of fast-paced interaction. Just show up, smile, and feel it out.
Many attendees have told me how refreshing it’s been to meet others face-to-face again after so much time behind screens. And yes, a few people have even found relationships — but more often, people leave these events with renewed confidence, a few good conversations, and maybe even a laugh they didn’t know they needed.
If you’ve been feeling a little isolated or unsure about where to start socially, I encourage you to reach out. You’re not alone in that feeling, and this community is here to support you as you re-engage with the world. Whether it's through a trivia night, a casual mingle, or a speed dating event, there’s a space for you here — no judgment, just good people trying to enjoy life again.
